Hey! I'm Simone and I'm a DIY travel enthusiast.
When I started traveling I was always faced with the choice: TRAVEL PACKAGE or DIY TRIP?
Travel package was convenient because you didn't have to think about anything but IT HAD TWO PROBLEMS:
- the first is that it cost much more than a do-it-yourself trip (on average from $300 to $500 more)
- The second is that you were forced to follow the organization: you had to keep up with the pace of the group, you had to consistently stay for weeks with people with whom you felt nothing towards, you basically couldn't decide anything.
So I started organizing my travels on my own to have TWO GREAT ADVANTAGES:
- save the money I used to pay for a travel package ($300 to $500)
- being able to choose the itinerary in complete autonomy and decide on stages, tours, transports, timing, food, accommodation and all the rest.
At this point, however, another problem arose: time.
To organize a 2 weeks trip in Thailand (or anywhere else) you need about 4 to 8 weeks.
You have to:
- search online for information on the best places to see
- buy travel guides such as the lonely planet
- go to many sites or instagram to see photos
- check the distances between the stages and decide the best routes
- search for transport timetable and cost
- go to Booking or Airbnb to figure out where to stay and at what price
- look for websites to book excursions, tours and visits.
Once the selection of the best stages has been made, you have to calculate the travel times and once you realize that a place is beautiful but it is far from everything else, you will be forced to change stages and you have to research again and revise the itinerary.
All this activity is really time consuming and can be stressfull.
I could never find a guide or a blog/website that clearly presented a complete and actionable daily itinerary
with all the adequate information, without the hustle of having to search on a thousand different places and waste entire weeks.
So I decided to combine the advantages of an organized trip with those of a do-it-yourself trip, hence the birth of the ‘2 Weeks Thailand Travel Guide'.
This Thailand Travel Guide appears as a travel package, saving you time organizing it, but it's a do-it-yourself trip.
The trip to Thailand was one of the first I organized on my own and it remains one of my favourites.
This is the 2 weeks itinerary in Thailand that I followed which made me fall in love with this country.
I hope it may give you the same feelings 😊
